Coaching models at GMHS

As an early adopter of technology in our school, I sought out specialized training in order to learn more for myself because I was passionate about it. I requested the principal give me time to share that knowledge gained with the staff duing PD days and unfortunately this has not happened much over the last few years. Now, after diving into the Google Pool" 5 years ago, I have demonstrated my knowledge to the point where she has created a position for me to work with other teachers one on  in creating lessons incorperating technology and increasing critical thinking. I am hoping that through this coaching model we are able to quickly improve the tech skills of the staff.

We have just started having demo slams at the start of meetings in order to empower teachers to share ideas and what has ended up happening is that staff shows up on time to meetings so that they won't miss the demo slam. It has also made it so that all meetings start with a high energy in the morning at 7:15, unlike before.
